Prior to her career as an actor, Jo Berry worked as a call center agent in BPO.

Jo Berry, also known as Onanay, stated on the GMA program "Bawal ang Judgemental" that she worked as a Call Center Agent for two years before becoming a full-fledged actress.

She revealed that she worked in BPO as a Call Center Agent for two years, which surprised the hosts of the "Bawal ang Judgmental" segment of Eat Bulaga. She also stated in the above said episode that she manages customers' debit, credit, and travel cards for individuals residing abroad, together with Americans, Australians, and Canadians.

While providing some details, she vehemently refuted claims that she lacked a good accent simply because she worked in a call center. "Only the other people had an accent, but I didn't because I worked at BPO for only two years, just for a little while," she claimed.

In relation, the hosts of "Bawal ang Judgmental" cracked jokes while guests decided to act out what would happen if they were Center Agents on a call, and Jo Berry showed how it was done.



Jo Berry discusses her journey from working as a call center agent to acting.

"It all started with just a dare because my older brother teased me that I could play a role in 'Magpakailanman' episode, just in case, but he said, I don't have a pleasing personality, so as I want to prove, that I'm going to have experience in the casting call with showbiz, then they agreed, they gave me the role," the action star said.

After two years, according to Jo Berry, GMA called her again because they had written a story (for the Onanay TV Series) originally for her.

She continued, "GMA said that if I don't have a job and I want to accept their offer [I should accept it] Well, it just happened that there was company I was applying to and we ought to sign an agreement but I personally prefer to sign the contract given to me by GMA, so yes, I'm here where I am now."

Jo Berry claimed she had never dreamed a career in acting and that her only chance came through an audition. Apparently, becoming a lawyer was her ultimate goal. According to her, Joe initially joined the BPO as call center agent to save money and have fun, but her goal's in life suddenly changed.
