Ella Cruz expressed her thoughts about the "History is Like Chismis" controversy.

Ella Cruz has performed her role as Irene Marcos-Araneta in the Vincentiments film The Maid in Malacaang, directed by Daryl Yap.

“History is like tsismis. It is filtered and dagdag na rin, so hindi natin alam what is the real history. Naro’n na yung idea, pero may mga bias talaga. As long as we are here at may kaniya-kaniyang opinion, I respect everyone’s opinion,” Ella said during the film’s promo.

Due to the continuous backlash directed at Ella Cruz for saying "History is Like Chismis," the actress burst into tears during the interview with Boy Abunda.

The actress also discussed how it affected her career, as all of her coworkers disagreed with her. "I learned to be strong and stand up for myself as a result of the criticism I received."

The artist's emotions in the previously stated interview video with Boy Abunda only spread throughout the internet and became a meme, as to mock and annoy Ella Cruz, especially given the number of people who attacked Ella Cruz, People said Ella Cruz still doesn't understand why people are angry with her and also, telling her to be more careful what she says, especially since she knows nothing about history.
